Peatland has the different in mature or decomposition. This
case happen because many factors, there are circles of peatland, age of the
peatland etc. From the paper that I have read, there are three level of
peatland mature or decompotition.
- Fibric (unripe)
- Fibric or unripe is the category of peatland did not yet decayed. The material of this type is easy to know or familiar in our eyes. There are two characteristic of Fibric. First, the color of Fibric type this type is brown. Second, if we press the ground, we can fell the ground still to much of fiber, more than 75%.
- Hemik (half mature)
- Hemik or the peatland in half mature still a half processing to be perfect decayed. The material of this type is still familiar, but not easy to know just like Fibric type. There are two characteristic of Hemik type. First, the color of this type is dark brown. Second, if we press the ground it will be much fiber about 17% - 75%.
- Saprik (mature)
- Saprik is the peatland did have perfect mature. The material of this type was not familiar and difficult to know. There are two characteristic of Saprik type. First, the color of this type is black. Second if we press the ground, it has fiber about 17%
