The fungsion of Peatland as hydrological is to storage
water. Unripe peatland (fibrik) be able to storage a lot of water, there are
500% until 1.000% from the weight of
moss. Natural peatland not only able to storage water but also for
belance the water system (control water system).
Peatland is a place for reseve and storage water (aquafer)
along rainy seasons. In dry seasons peatland released the water did have
storage because “evaporation” by the sun). This phenomena is important to
prevent the flood in heavy rain and water decrase in long dry seasons (Adrise,
1988).
Peatland is also be able to separates marin area and
tasteless water. With keep belancing both of them, motive the infiltrator of
sea water into coastal area and dirty sea water can be done and return to the
natural circles (Ricley et al. 1996).
